About WHI
THE INSTITUTE
At our official 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we provide learning and hands-on experience in the film & video industry for high school students and young adults. We believe receiving support from their own city will empower the youth to be confident with their artistry as creatives!
WHO WE DO IT FOR
Introduction to filmmaking for young creatives ages 16-24. Our mission is to build a career pipeline into the hands of aspiring filmmakers from diverse backgrounds.
WHAT WE DO
1. Annual summer fellowship program.
2. Programming: Host workshops, screenings, and networking events throughout the year.
3. Present the annual Indiana Youth Film Festival.
CREATIVE INCUBATOR
Through this program, students receive mentorship and
resume building experiences with opportunities to practice production positions like cinematography, directing, lighting, audio, producing, etc. The students are allowed to explore different departments of production without any fear of committing or consequences of the “real world”.Their creativity, originality, storytelling, and art is safe at Weatherhouse Institute.
